Actor-turned-politician Vijay is set to preside over the second state conference of his party, Tamilga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK), in Tamil Nadu on Thursday, just months before the assembly elections.
The inaugural state conference of TVK took place last year in Vikravandi, located in the Villupuram district.
This upcoming conference will be held in Parapathi, within the same district, and Vijay arrived in Madurai late Wednesday night, where he was greeted by enthusiastic fans and party supporters at the venue.
In a related incident, the large flagpole intended for the TVK flag collapsed from a four-wheeler on Wednesday, causing damage to the vehicle, but fortunately, no injuries were reported.
This state conference is significant as it occurs just a few months ahead of the elections scheduled for April-May 2026 in Tamil Nadu. Vijay has been vocal against the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at the national level.
